It has been an unbelievable success. They are remarkably honest (several have assigned grades of F). I still get C's and D's, but most students have realized that all they have to do is take my feedback and make necessary changes to activities and projects, and they have done well enough to earn an A or a B. <br /><br />My students are enjoying my class more than any ever have before and they are learning. Give self-evaluation a chance; I think you'll love the results.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18206735172077499589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2707703066300530859.post-41708004184448370402010-07-28T09:39:26.265-06:002010-07-28T09:39:26.265-06:00This is a lot like the way that I am moving with m...This is a lot like the way that I am moving with my Physics and Geometry classes...more projects...ePortfolios...self assess...grading discussions...fear that parents and admin won't understand ("that is not how we were graded")...How to get it be all about the learning while still reporting a grade. I am thinking about asking my Senior Physics students, "What grade do you want" and the following discussions will be "Are you doing "B" work"<br />SBG and Mastery learning will be a journeypaul shircliffhttp://www.buckeyeschools.org/pshircliffnoreply@blogger.com
