I'm seeing a trend with policy makers, senior administrators and even some administrators in that they often claim that the call for more testing is coming from teachers.
It's quite ingenious really. They know that it won't do for it to look like they are imposing their ignorance on teachers with the force of law, so they frame their needs as teachers' needs.
Once they make the claim that it is in fact the teachers themselves that are requesting testing, they can relax knowing the onus is now on the teachers to prove otherwise.
So...
...could all the teachers who need more testing to tell them which kids need help please make themselves known?
